How well is Alonso going to fit in at Ferrari?

Fernando is the new guy at Ferrari for the 2010 F1 season. Will he be able to mesh with the team and run up front all season, or is he going to struggle in his new environment?|||Most drivers only win races and run at the front when they have a superior car. Then there are a select few drivers who stand out to me in terms of pure driving skill. Lewis Hamilton is one of them - put him a competitive car and watch him take polls and win races like crazy. Fernando Alonso is another driver like Lewis - get Alonso a mid-pack or better car and you can watch him run at the front and out-drive people all day.





I think Alonso will do well for Ferrari if for no other reason than because he's got such a high level of driving talent. Ferrari will do everything they can to give Alonso a competitive car and from there watch out.|||I guess that depends on: a) whether his team mate is Fisicella or Massa; and b) whether his team mate overtakes him.





In all seriousness though, I think he will fit in very well. He is the best drivers on the grid (and, yes, I am a Lewis Hamilton fan) because he doesn't just drive exceptionally well, he also is able to set up his car better than most of the other drivers. Thus, don't be surprised if he is the next World Champion.|||Good question, I think he'll need to hammer Felipe to stand a chance of being "favoured" in the team and I'm not sure if he will do so.


Take Kimi, he walked the first race he had for Ferrari but did he ever look favourite? ( barring Felipe letting him by at Brazil 07) Kimi 07 and the first quarter of 08 was a superior driver but the teams obvious affection towards Felipe, I think messed with his head a bit.|||Well, him and Massa have had run-ins before. Most famously;





Also, recently Massa caused a load of trouble by claiming that 'Alonso must have known about crashgate'.


Maybe things will chnage when they have to spend more time together, but if Alonso can't beat Massa there will be muchos troubleos!|||Maybe at the beginning he'll have to get use to the car, but I think he'll be fine later on
