How much would it cost to buy a Ferrari in Italy?

Say I wanted to buy a Ferrari, for the sake of argument, F430. The avg. list price here is around $250,000. I have heard that it would be cheaper to go to Italy and buy it there, then have it shipped back to the US. Is this true? Does anyone know from experience? If it is cheaper, approx. how much would it cost, totaling all costs? Thanks.|||The only way i think you`d cost it all out would be to ask a dealer or two in Italy for a quote, including all relevent taxes/charges etc in that country, then find out about the import taxes/charges the US would charge you as well.

It could well be cheaper.

It doesnt matter what car you buy from Italy or any country in theory, unless the exchange rate is very severe, be it a Fiat or a Ferrari, unless the the model of Ferrari you want is hard to come by, a cars a car and money is money, specially if its cash, car dealers eyes light up when you mention cash, but they fade because they know you`ll probly haggle.

And good sales men if there sourcing cars will have lots of contacts, and so prices will fluctuate etc

Research is the key for the detailed prices, and lots of it to.|||It wouldn't be any cheaper for an American because of the Euro-Dollar exchange rate. There might be a savings initially, but the shipping cost, customs and the inspection to verify the vehicle is street legal for U.S. roads will eat up any savings quickly.

When the exchange rate is more favorable, it makes sense to fly over and order you car, paying for it in local currency.

If you're going to be in Italy or any part of Europe for a while, then you can buy the car, drive it there, then being it home later, making the ordeal cost effective.|||If you have to ask you can't afford it
